2. False. A close-up is a crop where for example only the face of a person is visible, along with a bit of shoulders.

4. True. The 1990s saw the breakthrough of digitalisation and image editing software, which made image editing more accessible. 

5. False. The colour and tone of news photographs can be corrected using image editing software. According to the journalist’s guidelines, news images aim to provide factual information and cannot mislead the viewer. Therefore the content of news photographs can not be changed, for example by adding or removing something from the picture. The news media themselves decide on other limits in image editing.
